SIAL Signs MOU With APA Air Systems FZE, SHARJAH |
|
| In order to celebrate Sialkot International Airport is being constructed by the Exporters of Sialkot on self- help basis. The Airport is expected to bring about a great industrial revolution in the whole region, which will give quantum jump to the exports of export triangle and prosperity for the people of the area. In view of the strategic importance of the Airport, a number of airlines are contacting the Airport authorities to start their operation from Sialkot Airport. The APA Air Systems FZE |

SIAL and APA on the occasion of signing the MOU |
| an airline based at Sharjah, after detailed negotiations with the SIAL Management has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to start their Cargo and Passenger operations immediately after the commissioning of the Airport. Both the parties have pledged to establish a greater partnership in developing close service-to-service contacts to achieve mutual objectives. It may be appreciated that PIA, DHL, TCS, Aero Asia and Air Blue have already shown their interest to operate from Sialkot International Airport and they are just waiting for the completion of the Airport. |

President FPCCI Visits Airport Project |
| Ch. Muhammad Saeed, President Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry, visited the under construction Sialkot International Airport on 15th February 2006 and was briefed by the Chief Executive, Chief Operating Officer and Directors SIAL. Ch. Muhammad Saeed was extremely delighted to note that the exporters and industrialists of Sialkot are setting new precedent of “self help” like Sialkot Dry Port and Sialkot Airport, which is a matter of pride for the business community of the country. He was briefed about the under-construction facilities, the procurement of Airport operational equipment, the road infrastructure essentially required prior to the start of operations of the Airport and the areas where SIAL needs Govt.’s support. Ch. Muhammad Saeed assured the SIAL Management that he would play his role and use his good offices to take up the matters concerning the Airport with the President of Pakistan for some appropriate solutions |

Collector Custom Briefed by SIAL Management |
| Mr. Abdus Sami Baber, Collector of Customs, Sambrial visited the Airport site on 14th March 2006, along with Hafiz Muti Ullah, Additional Collector Customs to plan the establishment of Custom Department at the Airport. The top management of SIAL received the custom officials and thanked them for the cooperation being extended by the Customs Deptt. to the Airport under the guidance of Chairman CBR, Mr. Abdullah Yousaf. The Collector very graciously assured the SIAL team that he would accord his full support to the international Airport by establishing a full fledged Custom Clearance Desk at the Airport for cargo and passengers at the Airport. |

Mr. Khawar Anwar Khawaja Re-appointed as Chief Executive SIAL |
| The Board of Directors SIAL in its meeting held on 20th February 2006 re-appointed Mr. Khawar Anwar Khawaja as Chief Executive SIAL for another period of one year. The House appreciated his devotion and dedication for the Airport and excellent performance right from the conception, planning and approval of the Airport by the President of Pakistan. |

Update On SIAL |
SIAL celebrated Pakistan Day on 23rd March 2006 by holding a get-together at the Airport site which was attended by a large number of Directors / Shareholders of SIAL along with their families and other dignitaries, Govt. officials and guests.

Mr. Umar Ahmed Ghumman MNA / Federal Minister of Investment also graced the occasion by hoisting the National Flag. The highlight of the day was the live performance of national singer Tarranum Naz who sang national songs on the occasion.

ADB Team Visits SIAL |
| The representatives of Asian Development Bank visited SIAL site on 31st March 2006 and they were received and conducted to various sites of the project. The ADB officials showed their keenness in participating in the project. |

SIAL has signed an agreement with PSO for the establishment of a consumer facility at the Airport site. The representatives of both the managements at the occasion. |

100% Ground Handling Equipment Commissioned |
| It is a matter of great pleasure that by the grace of Almighty and the efforts made by Ground Handling Equipment Committee SIAL, under the Chairmanship of Mr. Naeem Akhtar, complete ground handling equipment has been imported and deployed at the Airport. The representatives of suppliers M/s. TLD Europe France and their local partner M/s, Tash International had recently visited the Airport site for the commissioning of the equipment. It is worth mentioning here that SIAL is establishing its own TGS (Technical Ground Support) to provide ground-handling services for all types of aircrafts including B-747. |

Corps Commander Gujranwala Visits SIAL Site |
| Corps Commander Gujranwala Lt. General Anis Ahmed Abbasi visited SIAL site on 24th January 2006. The Chief Executive along with Directors and Chief Operating Officer SIAL received him at the runway. He visited the various under-construction facilities of the Airport. A briefing was given to him in which the needs and importance of the Airport were highlighted. Corps Commander commended the efforts and initiative of the local exporters and industrialists for undertaking such a mega project on self-help basis, setting a unique example of initiative in the history of Aviation. |
